Editor-in-Chief

The Editor-in-Chief plays a pivotal role in championing the journal and its discipline, overseeing all journal activities to ensure its success within the scientific community. They are responsible for the journal's scientific quality and development, maintaining close ties with the Editorial Board, and assisting the Editorial Office in managing the journal. The initial term is for two years, during which the Editor-in-Chief will:

  • Serve as an ambassador for the journal, CLS, and Open Access publishing;
  • Make scientific decisions regarding the journal's scope;
  • Invite distinguished scientists to join the Editorial Board;
  • Suggest topics for Special Issues;
  • Provide support and guidance to Section Editors-in-Chief, Editorial Board Members, and Editorial Staff as needed;
  • Oversee the editorial process for individual manuscripts, including making final publication decisions after peer review and revisions;
  • Understand, lead, and uphold CLS’s peer review and ethics guidelines;
  • Chair the annual Editorial Board Meeting.
