Cover Letter
Every manuscript submission should be accompanied by a cover letter. This cover letter needs to be succinct and should articulate the importance of the research by situating the paper's findings within the broader context of existing research. It also needs to demonstrate the alignment of the manuscript with the journal's focus.
Should there have been any previous submissions of the manuscript to any CLS journals, these must be disclosed. In such instances, including the previous manuscript ID in the submission system is advisable as it simplifies the processing of the current submission. It is important to note that the names of preferred and excluded reviewers should be entered directly into the submission system (i.e., only if submission system has enabled this perticular functionality) rather than mentioned in the cover letter.
The cover letter must also contain specific confirmations:
- The manuscript, as well as any of its parts, is not under consideration for publication elsewhere nor is it already published.
- All listed authors have consented to the manuscript's submission and approve of its contents for submission to the journal Information.
